No. 17 Golden Eagles Take Season-opener Over Feather River; Johnson Earns First Lemoore Win
STOCKTON – The 2025-26 Lemoore College women's basketball season got off to a winning start thanks to the Golden Eagles' 64-52 victory over Feather River College on Friday in Day 1 of the Jocelyn Mancebo Classic at San Joaquin Delta College.
It was also new LC head coach Keshawn Johnson's first career win with the college.
16 players saw action for the Golden Eagles in the season-opener. Lemoore got out to a 22-10 first-quarter lead and was up 35-22 at halftime.
Chloe Arrington led the way, scoring a team-high 13 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. Aaliyah Thompson and Lia Sims nearly had double-doubles as Thompson totaled 12 points and 8 rebounds while Sims had 12 points and 8 boards.
Savannah Rowland had a solid game with 8 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Lemoore had a tougher time in their final two games of the tournament against state-ranked opponents. The Golden Eagles fell 76-57 to No. 4 host San Joaquin Delta on Saturday and dropped am 81-45 contest to No. 11 Fresno City College.
Against Delta, Arrington posted 14 points, Thompson had 13 points, and Sims had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Sims had her best game of the weekend vs. Fresno City as she earned her second double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Lemoore, now 1-2 overall, is back in action next weekend with a pair of game at Fresno City, starting on Thursday.
