Golden Eagles open CVC schedule with win at Reedley
REEDLEY – Lemoore College rolled to its fourth straight win, an 88-80 victory at Reedley College on Wednesday in both squads' Central Valley Conference opener.
The Golden Eagles went into the break with a narrow three-point advantage, 39-36, and were able to outscore Reedley 49-44 in the second to hold on for the win.
Mykayle McCoy and Na'Jae Stevenson both had double-double to lead Lemoore.
McCoy led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting while adding 11 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and a steal. Na'Jae Stevenson recorded his double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, including five offensive boards, as Lemoore consistently generated second-chance opportunities.
Kason Smith chipped in 13 points and six rebounds, while Eleven Williams provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, knocking down both of his three-point attempts and handing out four assists. Jason Russ added seven points and eight rebounds, and Davion Jackson contributed seven points and four assists.
With the win, Lemoore improved to 8-7 overall and 1-0 in the Central Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday (Jan. 10) when they travel to Porterville College for a CVC game.
