WEST HILLS LEMOORE SHOCK HARTNELL 3-1

WEST HILLS LEMOORE SHOCK HARTNELL 3-1

It looked as though Hartnell would continue their winning ways early in this game, with the Panthers scoring an early goal in the 7th minute. The West Hills College Lemoore Golden Eagles had another thought. Hartnell continued to pressure shooting several times more in the first 10 mins and winning 2 dangerous corner kicks.

The Eagles offense started to gain traction in the middle of the first half and a searching ball over the top of the Hartnell centerbacks found the Golden Eagle forward Moises Martinez who stumbled as his feet became tangled with the Hartnell centerback. Martinez was able to keep his feet and found himself 1 on 1 with the Panther Keeper and he shot just hard enough to get past the oncoming Panther keeper.

West Hills was able to get their share of the ball late in the first half and on a free kick in the Panther's defensive third Youri Dos Santos was taken down in the Pather penalty bock for a Golden Eagle Penalty kick in the 45th minute. It was Mateus de Arantes who stepped up and deftly slotted the ball away giving the Golden Eagles the lead just before half.

Hartnell started quickly in the second half with several dangerous crosses that just missed their mark. Defenders Youri dos Santos and Jose Lugo were busy clearing two back to back crosses out of the middle of the Eagles box. It wasn't until the 50th minute when Lemoore had their first chance to extend their lead with a counter attack that was snubbed out by the Hartnell defense. In the 55th minute the Hartnell forward was able to breakthrough the West Hills defense and was taken down inside the box giving the Panthers a penalty kick and their chance to bring the score back to even. It was Daniel Pulido for Hartnell who stepped up to take the penalty and he crushed over the bar.

West Hills final goal came on a free kick 25 yards from goal. Mateus de Arantes stepped up and hit a laser that just zipped past the outstretched arms of the Panther goalkeeper.
