Sebastian Fuenzalida Wins Medalist Honor at Prestigious Diablo Grande Golf Tournament

On the tough Diablo Grande Ranch Course in Patterson, CA, under rainy, cold, and windy conditions, while scores from 76 of the top Community College Golfers in Northern California went up, West Hills’s fiery competitor from Chile, Sebastian Fuenzalida, went the other way and shot an even par 72. Under the conditions, scores were high all across the board from even the leading teams and players in the conference. Sebastian won by two shots over two 74’s from competing players from Chabot College and Folsom Lake.

West Hills Head Coach, Dave Neer, said that this was an amazing round. “ Sebastian has been working very hard on his game, especially his short game. He is one of the best ball strikers on the team and it was just a matter of time for the sophomore to put it all together. Who would have ever thought he would do in these conditions and on this course!! What an accomplishment, the bells will be ringing in Chile today. This is due to his hard work and strong mental game.
